Andrea M. Sawyer
Highland Light

Andi's paintbrush takes us to North Truro to Highland Lighthouse, the oldest and tallest lighthouse on Cape Cod. When Edward Hopper painted this lighthouse in 1930, it was 450 feet to the East. Due to beach erosion, the lighthouse had to be moved in July 1996 to border the golf course. The tranquility of this site, as expressed in Andi's painting, may be broken by the occasional golfer yelling "fore", which actually happened when Andi was studying the site. Edward Hopper probably didn't face such danger.
